We are constantly shaken with catastrophic events, whether it is a major event such as terrorist attacks in a peaceful city or small incidents that affect our mood. At least in our context, when bad things happened to our lives, it’s bad and affects us a great deal.
The important part in our lives is to constantly stay positive and here are 6 ways to do so.
-
Yield To Your Own Defeat
This does not mean you give up hope, you just need to accept that you were defeated by your own inability to manage the situation during that point of time. By learning from mistakes and accepting the responsibility that caused the defeat will make you a stronger person. -
Cultivate A Positive Environment
The simplest way to stay positive is to be in a positive environment. However, cultivating such environment can be challenging at times if that negative cloud is around. Start listing down your daily routine and things you had been doing. From that list, you should start to identify and filter out those things that are bringing you down or stalling the progression towards the goal to your positive environment. One thing to remember though is not to stop doing those negative things suddenly. Instead, drop them off the list systematically by replacing new habits to those old routines. -
Cultivate A Positive Social Circle
Our social circle affects how we react to things around us. Comments and opinions from our friends or associates usually sneak up into our minds unintentionally because we value their thoughts. Therefore if your social circle contains mainly negative people, the outcome will be negative too. -
Refocus Your Goals
We dream big, we dream success and we dream to achieve those dreams before we die. We developed goals and developing new goals every time things changes or opportunities arise. Yet there is a great possibility we will not achieve any if there are too many goals to achieve. They might even cause a downfall to your motivation and mood. Try to refocus your goals and create a timeline so that you can achieve the milestones. And do go celebrate to each achieved milestones. -
Start Listening To People
On many occasions where we became opinionated by our thoughts and past experiences, we tend to create a contained bubble towards criticism and positive feedback from others. By doing so, you isolate yourself and eventually distance yourself from others. This can be damaging because you block out positivity. Try to start somewhere, start listening to people instead of interrupting or deny their opinions. -
Find Peace With A Religion
When we are unable to blame anyone else along the way for our downfall, we start turning towards our religious believes. At the initial stage where we feel extremely low, we will feel the world let us down and even to the stage where we lost faith with our god. Best not to reach this stage because you doomed yourself by doing so. Try to find the peace of mind from within and seek not to blame. Some of us might even change faith and religion, that is fine as long as you are able to find the peace you seek.
